Evening Eclectica 3: Black Music Month
By Alexandria Boddie

At the intersection of Black music and that that is eclectic, you know you'll find me. This is the theme for this month's edition Evening Eclectica - a one-hour journey through alternative musical genres and stories, hosted by ME, on the first Monday of every month at 7pm Pacific on the Creew Discord.
June is Black Music Month, so I wanted to focus on deep cuts and OGs. I wanted to begin with a pioneering tune and end with something spiritual to soothe your nervous system. So here's the tracklist, revealed:
- Cybotron: “Clear”
- Chic: “Chic Cheer”
- Parliament: “Mothership Connection”
- Thundercat: “How Sway”
- Debby Friday: “FOCUS”
- Kelis feat. Andre 3000: “Millionaire”
- Kid Cudi: “Surfin’”
- Kendrick Lamar: “Collard Greens
- Seven Davis Jr: Figure It Out
- Omar-S.: “Seen Was Set”
- Ron Trent: “Prescription”
That's almost 55 minutes of Black art, so I had to keep my yapping to a bare minimum.
As always, you can spin these tunes anytime on Spotify by following the official playlist. But if you want to hear these songs in this order, make sure you listen before July 7th, when the new tracklist will be revealed.
